Plant now for spring gardens

It's a great time for planting spring flowering bulbs like tulips, daffodils, crocus, and hyacinths. Fruit trees can also be planted until the end of December if the ground isn't frozen. The cool, moist soil gives roots a good growing start.

Don't forget your garden either this fall. Now is the time to prepare next year's garden spot by sowing winter seed or adding compost to enrich and replenish the soil.
